description This is a tidy, riverfront campground famous for great fly fishing on the Owens River in the winter months, quick access to Pleasant Valley reservoir and its central location to a variety of outdoor pursuits all year round. Located just north of Bishop with views of the striking Sierra Nevada, and spectacular night skies, anglers and climbers, RVers and tent campers fill the campground during its busy months from November to June. Climbers use the site while challenging themselves on the many technical routes in "The Gorge" and can easily access world-class bouldering in the nearby Happy Boulders, on Chalk Bluff Road, or the Buttermilks, about 10 miles west of Bishop. Easy hikes along the scenic Owens River and into the nearby gentle hills are also a highlight. Surrounding public lands that offer hunting, hiking, climbing and biking.
