description Pomona State Park is known for its rural atmosphere, shady campsites and a great family atmosphere. The 490 acre park is developed for a wide range of outdoor pursuits. Recreational opportunities include camping, 142 utility and 200 non-utility campsites, cabins, picnicking, swimming, fishing, boating, hiking, disc golf, playgrounds, basketball, volleyball, horseshoe pits and many annual special events and activities. A pleasant mixture of plant life is found in prairie grassland, woodland, and lakeside environments, offering enthusiasts the opportunity to view a large variety of wildlife. Fees required for the state park include vehicle permits, camping and utility permits, special event permits and reservations. All permits must be purchased before facilities can be utilized. Permits may be purchased from the state park office, gate house, camp hosts, or the self pay station.

importantInformation Camping Policy You must be 18 or older to rent a cabin or campsite. Camping is allowed only in designated areas. Only one utility camping unit per site is allowed. Dependent minor children may stay in an additional tent unit at no charge. Adults may stay in a tent, but will be required to pay the regular camping fees. No more than 2 additional tents per site.All camping units are limited to a stay of not more than 14 consecutive days unless authorized. Upon completing 14 days in a campground, all persons and property shall be absent from the campground for not less than 5 days.One extended camping stay of not more than 14 additional consecutive days at the same campground may be granted if multiple sites in that campground are vacant at the time the extension would begin. All extensions will be granted by the office. All payments for extended stays will be in advance, with no refunds. Upon completing the extensions, all persons and property of each person shall be absent from the campground for not less than 5 days. Extensions will not be granted for primitive camping areas.Park stays in excess of 14 days are only allowed as follows: By written extensions as per above or by moving from one utility-site campground to a different utility-site campground every 14 days.14 Day Camping Permits may be used non-consecutively and in any Kansas State Park. The hard copy of the camping permit will be punched and dated for each night that is used. IT IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY TO KEEP THE HARD COPY OF THE PERMIT! Lost permits cannot be replaced. Do not put your 14 day permits on the ticket post! A paid camping receipt will be placed on the ticket post.Campsites may be paid for then occupied at a later time provided it is paid for by person owning the camping unit and occupied by 9:00 pm the same day. Campsites not occupied by 9:00 pm may be declared vacant and resold.Except for marked reservable sites, all campsites are first-come, first-serve. Campsite fees must be paid immediately upon occupying a campsite!Quiet hours are observed between 11:00 pm and 6:00 am. Failure to comply with laws, rules and regulations, permit conditions or posted restrictions by an individual may result in such individual or equipment of the individual being removed from the Department lands or waters.DUMPING OF GREY WATER IS PROHIBITED!SCOOTERS, SKATEBOARDS & MOPEDS Electric and gas powered scooters and skateboards cannot be operated in the state park. PETS Pets shall be controlled at all times by any of the following methods:1.Tethered chain, leash or Hand held leash not more than 10 feet in length and under the direct observation of and control by the owner at all times.2.Confined to a cage, pen, vehicle, or camper. General Rules: -Vehicles may only be driven on maintained roads.-Camping is restricted to designated campsites.- Subject to regulations and posted notices, any individual over 21 may possess, consume, or drink alcoholic liquor. Kegs and party balls are strictly prohibited.-All personal watercraft must be loaded and unloaded from a designated boat ramp.-Any motorized vehicles (gas or electric) operated within state parks must be registered (having a license plate) and must have a state park vehicle permit.-Fireworks are strictly prohibited. Trail Rules: -Trails are open during daylight hours only.-No fires or Motorized vehicles are allowed on the trails.-All litter must be properly disposed of. Cabin Rules: Check in time is after 2:00 P.M. and Check out time is Noon-No Smoking inside cabins or restrooms-No Pets or Carriers inside cabin-No cooking/grilling on porch deck-Fires are Restricted to Fire Rings-Cabin must be clean prior to departure-Cabin renters shall be responsible for full payment of any damages incurred during the length of stay.
