With sweeping views of the nearly 56,000-acre lake, Fair Play offers an ideal setting for a party, barbecue or simply a day of water activities with the family.

orientationDescription Hartwell Lake is a man-made lake bordering Georgia and South Carolina on the Savannah, Tugaloo and Seneca Rivers. The dam and lake areas boast nine campgrounds and 15 day-use facilities that are operated by the US Army Corps of Engineers. Surrounding vegetation allows for plenty of shade, and the 962 miles of shoreline provide numerous swimming beaches, picnic areas and boat ramps.

A two-lane boat ramp is available for visitors' convenience, and two designated swimming beaches are located on the peninsula. Nearby Lake Hartwell State Recreation Area offers a 3/4 mile nature trail, where birding conditions are ideal.
