HIKING: South Fork

Triple Blaze →

Description

The South Fork trail contains the northern terminus of the lengthy Pinhoti trail that stretches from North Georgia into Alabama. Parts of this section of trail are really wide, grassy forest road, and some parts are beautiful singletrack. One section of the trail is very muddy and passes through a few swamps, and it transitions into very rocky terrain with a good dash of roots and mud thrown in. This can be a challenging hike!

Directions

From Blue Ridge take GA 5 north for 3.7 miles. Turn left of Old GA 2. After 10.2 miles park at the Watson Gap intersection.
