HIKING: Maidstone State Park

Triple Blaze →

Description

Maidstone is the most remote of Vermont's state parks and still retains much of the wilderness character associated with the Northeast Kingdom. Maidstone Lake was created when glacial ice carved out a deep basin in a preexisting valley. The 475 acre state park and forest is a combination of northern hardwood and boreal forest with sugar maple, beech, yellow birch, red spruce and balsam fir as the most common trees.<br />
Surrounding the park are acres of forest lands that offer miles of logging roads for mountain biking or just walking.

Directions

From Bloomfield: Go 5 mi. S on Hwy. 102, then 5 mi. SW on State Forest Hwy.
