Riverbend Park boasts over 400 acres of forest, meadows, ponds, and streams bordering the Potomac River. Numerous resident and migrant birds, and spectacular wildflowers are some of its highlights. A pavilion, available for special events, can be reserved on a first-come, first-served basis. Other facilities include picnic tables and a boat ramp for private launches. Swimming is prohibited in the river.<br />

Riverbend Park Nature Center is located at 8814 Jeffery Road and is open only for scheduled programs, groups, and appointments; for more information call 703.759.3211. The Visitor Center (address above) has live animals, seasonal exhibits, a nature library, and a naturalist on duty during open hours. Information about several self-guided programs can be picked up at the Visitor Center,
