MOUNTAIN BIKING: Buffer Creek

Single Tracks →

Description

Dirt Road climb and single track descent. Fast and rolling. Not very technical.
Climb up red sandstone road. At first fork stay left toward piney lake. Lots
of views on the way. Look behind you often. You'll pass lost lake trailhead
about an hour into the ride. Shortly after take a left on Red and White
Road. It's marked (Google maps shows another name.. Look for Red and
White). Climb up hill until the road turns Right sharply. You will continue
straight. Follow the Double track until it turns to single track. The trail will
climb up a bit, but will eventually be a white knuckle descent down to the
west side of vail where you will connect with roads riding back to your car.

Directions

Take Vail exit 176. Head West on the North Frontage Rd. Take a Right on Red

Sandstone Rd. Follow the road up hill until you see a trailhead parking lot on

the left. If it is full continue up hill until you see a dirt road on the left (this is

the route on bike as well) You should find parking 3/4 of a mile up the road.

Signs say snowmobile parking.
