MOUNTAIN BIKING: Pavilion Point Loop

Single Tracks →

Description

This is one of my regular training rides. Itís a combination of pavement, doubletrack, sweet singletrack, and an awesome downhill. Oh yea there is a 5 mile hill climb 1500 ft, but that takes you to a 7 mile downhill. Itís an exhilarating ride every time!
Ride through Georgetown to Guanella Pass. Ride up Guanella Pass a couple of miles to Waldorf Jct. On the ride up there are good views of Georgetown.. From Waldorf Jct. follow Waldorf Road F,S. 248.1 to the right about a mile up a fairly steep rocky climb to the Argentine R.R. Grade. Ride up the switchbacks donít follow any of the spur roads that lead up the valley.
When you reach the R.R. grade turn right and ride east on F.S. 248.1Q.TIME TO PUT IN THE BIG RING. You will see a rock chimney. This is Pavilion Point. There is a scenic view just to the north. Follow the R.R. grade down to Silver Plume. The single track in this section is unbelievable!!

At Silver Plume head east and hook up with the bike path back to Georgetown

Directions

Take I-70 west of Denver to Georgetown exit #228 Drive under the overpass and park at the Visitors Center on the right.<br />
