Description

From the parking area head up the road and follow this to a dirt road. After 5 or so miles on the dirt road it will crest, from here take a right and travel up this road for 500 yards or so. Look off to your right, the tail is marked. Take this single track all the way down passing the north trail across a creek and to a parking lot. From this parking area ride the road back to the car.<br />

Son of Middle is an Intermediate to Expert trail and Beginner Riders will find this trail extremely difficult. Ride Red Sandstone Road 3 miles until the first fork and bear right. The trail head is less than a quarter mile ahead on the right and is clearly marked with a wooden trail sign.<br />

Ride Son of Middle and 3-4 miles and loop back to your car easily by taking the right turn onto the North Trail to end up back on Red Sandstone Road. Or continue on Son of Middle (left) which drops you at the Spraddle Creek Trailhead just over 1 mile east of Red Sandstone Road. Simply head west on the Frontage road bike path to return to your car.

Directions

Take I-70 to Vail heading west, get off at the second Vail exit. Take your second turn off the roundabout on the frontage road. Take the frontage road to red sandstone road and follow the road to the first large pullout in front of you.
