MOUNTAIN BIKING: Flint River Trail

Single Tracks →

Description

This trail is interesting in that it goes along the Flint River. There are some steep drop off sections that the trail rides against. I was there first thing in the morning, alone. Took some pics. There were several spots that were very picturesque. There were a few loops that connect back into the singletrack's out and back. But the farthest you will be from the trail head is about 2.5 miles. I had to do a little searching, but could never find continuing trail at the far end. In any case, it's a worthwhile ride. Not too technical at all. But a good workout. Several places have overgrown. So, as someone else said - Bring your salad dressing.

Directions

From US 19, take Oglethorpe Exit into town. You'll see the Civic Center on your left after a few miles. Park behind the civic center. You'll see a sharp bend in the road beside the Center. That is where the trail takes off into the woods. It starts out as double track, but quickly becomes singletrack.
