MOUNTAIN BIKING: Bear Creek

Single Tracks →

Description

For the first few miles you have a choice of either a high or low road. You can wade through the creek on the low road or take the high road and avoid getting wet. The high road is more fun as it has more ups and downs. There are numerous trails that break off of the Bear Creek trail providing numerous lolly-pop loop options. This area has some great potential, but is rarely ridden (more of a dirt bike destination). If you're looking to explore and have an adventure consider this trail.

Directions

South from Pallisades, you find the Pallisades dam. Cross the dam and follow the road. Signs will direct you to Bear Creek campground (I think it's the left road). When you get to the campground itself, you hit a fork in the road. You want to go to the right. The left one is an ATV trail. You'll come to a place where you can park. The trailhead is right there where the road ends. You can actually take it about as far as you would like. Trails go on forever out of there.
